What are the relative heights in inches for the 8 settings for height adjustment on craftsman mower model 917.370921
I understand that you want to know the height adjustments of your Craftsman mower. I have done some research and I was able to locate a copy of your owners manual here on the Manage My Life website, which I have attached in the link below for you to view while you wait on your response from an expert. I hope this is helpful. Have a great day!
Sorry, but your answer makes no sense. There are 8 settings. If each setting raises or lowers the mower by 1/2" then the model is adjustable a total of 3 and 1/2 inches, not 3 inches as you indicated in your response, or, it is adjustable a total of 3" but the difference from one setting to another is less than 1/2 ". Also, I need to know the height at position 1 so that I can fill in the other heights. Could you please research this further and get and get back? Thank you.
Russ there is no answer for the inches to numbers. the manufacture just puts numbers on the height gage lever for reference. you will need to mow a strip and measure the grass with a ruler. there are so many variables in the height of the grass mowed. the tire pressure, weight of the rider. and most yards are not golf coarse green level so the height would change for those reasons and the inches would change then some one would be suing for false advertisement as the grass would not be the correct height in inches they stated.
Based on the specs provided on the Sears sales website (not available in the owner's manual by the way), here is the answer for this model. The are 8 possible settings for height adjustment. The height range is from 1.5" to 4.0", which makes the total adjustable range 2.5". From position 1 to position 8 there are 7 increments. Each increment is approx .357" (2.5" range divided by 7) when you do the math.
