when the washer spins it sounds like it is going to take off in flight. It is extemely loud. We have taken it apart and made sure there are no items stuck but it still does it. What is wrong?
I apologize that you're having this issue with your washer. A washer is definitely something we depend on and when it begins to malfunction it can be a huge inconvenience. While you are waiting for an expert to respond, I have attached a helpful link below that may provide information to assist you with your question. Hope this helps!
I'm sorry to hear that your machine is very noisy during spinning and I would like to assist you. From your description, it appears that the bearing may have failed and I would like to assist you with parts and diagnosis. Please reply with your washer's full model number and I'll be happy to assist you further.
Thank you for replying with your model number. Unfortunately, it is most likely the bearing and either the tub as an assembly, or the bearing as a kit will need to be replaced. This repair requires the washer to be completely disassembled and the basket removed. You may want to consider a Sears Service Smart Agreement at this time. This agreement will cover the cost of the repair and provide continued coverage on the washer for a period of one year. The cost varies with age of your washer and if the repair is going to be over $500, you will have the option to pay the difference, or get a voucher for up to $500 towards the purchase of a new washer at your local Sears. These agreements usually start at around $200 and up. The way to get a quote for this is to call 800-469-4663 and speak with an agent about a Service Smart Agreement for your washer. They will be able to accurately quote you and provide you with all of the details.
This repair can be done yourself, but after figuring the cost of the parts and your time, the agreement pretty much wins out. If you decide that you would like to attempt the repair yourself, please let me know and I'll be happy to assist you.
I look forward to assisting you further.
