Can electrical tools (saws, drill, sanders etc) be stored in a unheated garage?

Yes. Most can also be used immediately the instruction books/manuals will give some insight to those that cannot. Two things need to be remembered however. The storage has to be dry and should the tool be moved to a warm damp atmosphere, such as inside the house condensation will likely occur on and in the tool, this must be allowed to dry beFore attempting to use the tool. The quick and easy way round this is to run the tool in the cold environment to let it 'warm up' and then ake it into the warm damp environment.

Thank you for your question.

I will be happy to assist you with this question. You should not have any problem with storing the tools in an unheated area. The temperature will not have any affect. The biggest concern with storing tools is humidity. Try to store them in a low humidity environment and off the floor. If they sit on concrete, they could rust quickly. If you are also going to store hand tools it is best to coat them with WD-40 before storage. I wish I had done that when I was moving. Once I decided where I was moving I hauled a load of tools 1200 miles and put them in storage. Roughly, 3 months later I retrieved the tools. When unpacking them I found most had to be cleaned with steel wool.

I hope this is helpful. Please let me know if you need further assistance.

This is a great place to go for advice, especially if you're low on funds and you could resolve the problem before calling and paying a service call, if it's an easy fix. I'm glad you are there for me.
