Had mower since April. Has always started on first or second pull. This weekend the mower would not start at all. Checked fuel, plenty. Checked spark, plenty. Removed air cleaner and squirted fuel into intake. Motor started and ran for about 3 seconds and died. Removed carb fuel bowl and fuel flows properly. Removed carb and checked all ports for clogs "none"... Reassembled, same issue, will not run.
I know that it can be difficult to have your equipment stop working properly, especially when you need to use it. While you are waiting for your expert answer, I have found a link that will provide some information on the issue. Since the mower started with fuel being add to the intake, it is most likely that the carburetor needs to be cleaned. I hope this helps.
did you clean the needle valve and ports on the carb and did you replace with fresh fuel fuel thats more than 4 weeks old should be replaced because moisture and condensation builds up in tank you might try that if you havent already if you need further help with this let me know what it does and what its doing and we can troubleshoot the problem good luck
Thank you for your question.I am sorry you are having a problem with the mower. I will be happy to assist you with the mower. First check the fuel in the tank. If it is older than 5 weeks old, it should be drained and refilled with fresh fuel. If the fuel is fine, I suspect the passages in the carburetor are plugged. It is possible that some debris from manufacturing has gotten into the passages and plugged them. To cure the problem the carburetor will have to be cleaned. I recommend having the repair done by a service technician because the mower is less than two years old. Here is a link that will provide the nearest drop-off locations: Sears Home Services .If you would like to repair this yourself, I will be happy to assist you in the repair. if you dont have gas in the float bowl then you have a fuel blockage because the float bowl should have gas if its working properly otherwise no fuel is getting to the carbuerator which wont start because of a possible fuel blockage or bad carb im thinking the fuel hole in the tank is blocked up with debris and needs cleaned because when you put the line coming from tank back on carb fuel should have filled the bowl and the needle and float will stop the fuel cut off at a half level. hope this helps let me know if you need any further help with this good luck
John is correct but the mower is new and has a two-year warranty. If you have followed the users manual the mower will be repaired at no charge. If you attempt to repair the mower yourself and can not get it back together you would be charged. That is why I recommend having it repaired. Please let me know if you need further assistance.
