I have a Sears Tractor Model# 28856. I am preparing for the fall and need to purchase a Sears bagging system. My question is; can I use one of your mulching blade kits with the bagging system? Will the leaves get mulched and picked-up with the bagger?
Definitely having to find the proper parts for your Tractor can be a challenge to help in determining if you have the right part I would suggest visiting Sears parts direct.com where you can view a diagram of all parts available for your Tractor. I have attached a link below. Hope it helps!
When plant matter is mulched, the clippings are continually cut into smaller pieces until they are so small that the air vortex does not draw the clippings upward. Depending upon the height of the bagging system portal, your experience will vary; the lower the portal, the more clippings will be transferred to the bag, the higher the portal, the more clippings will be left on the ground. The speed of travel along the ground will also affect the rate of bagging versus mulching.
Thank you for your question.
I am not quite sure what you are asking. If you have the bagger connected to the tractor, it will bag regardless of what blades you have on the mower. If you would like it to mulch and then pick them up you can do that but it takes two steps. First, go over the lawn with the mulch cover on the mower deck. Once the leaves are mulched, take the cover off, connect the bagger, and go over the lawn again. Before doing the whole lawn I recommend testing this method in a small spot in the lawn. If it does not clean up the mulched leaves, I recommend just bagging without mulching. Please let me know if you need further assistance. Thank you for using Manage my life.Mark T.Member
