The gas dryer rotates but does not provide adequate heat, maybe 40-50%
Diagnosing Dryers can be difficult. While you wait for the expert to review your model, you can check a similar question from a previous expert post if you like. I attached the link below. If you do decide to have a technician diagnose and make repairs, an option is to visit Sears Home Services and use the handy scheduler.
The vent may be okay but it is the vent that usually causes this problem.
The best way to check this problem is to check the temperature of the exhaust air with the vent off.You can remove the vent hose from the back of the dryer and with an oven thermometer check the temperature of the exhaust air. The temperature should cycle between 135 to 155 degrees. If you get these temperatures with the vent off you can try it again with the vent on. You can stick a meat thermometer through the vent and check the temperatures. Another thing to check is if the dryer is still heating after 20 minutes or so. Sometimes a gas dryer will work for the first 10-15 minutes but then stop heating even though the ignitor keeps cycling on and off. This might indicate a coil or valve failure. Check the temps and let me know what you get.Member
