Replace gasket on Kenmore Elite refrigerator

I have a Kenmore Elite refrigerator model 59676599601. The gasket on the outer door tore and I need to replace it. How do you replace this gasket?

When it comes to replacing parts on your appliances it can be really confusing without any instructions. While you are waiting on an expert to answer your question, I was searching the Manage My Life website and found your owner's manual. I have attached the link below. Have an awesome day!

The owner's manual doesn't say anything about how to replace the gasket.

Thank you for your question.

I will be happy to assist you with replacing the door gasket. On this model, the door gasket pushes into a channel in the door. To replace the door gasket pull the old door gasket out of the channel. Then push the corners of the new gasket into the channels first. Then push the gasket in between the corners. If there are any wrinkles in the gasket, you can remove them by carefully heat the gasket with a hair dryer. Do not heat it too much because it will melt the new gasket.

If you need to replace the left door gasket, you need to remove the mullion. To remove the mullion locate and remove the screw in the center of the door. The image below shows the screw. Once the screw is removed push up on the mullion to remove it. After the mullion is removed, replace the gasket the same as the other side.

I hope this is helpful. If you need further assistance, please feel free to reply below with more details.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

This is a great place to go for advice, especially if you're low on funds and you could resolve the problem before calling and paying a service call, if it's an easy fix. I'm glad you are there for me.
