I just bought a new Kenmore Elite 4109-3 range. Sears installed it, but it won't push all the way back into its space. It's out about 1 1/2 inches out from where it should be up against the trim board. I think the electric block (it's a bi-fuel) is in the way and I will need to have my electrician move it. The problem is this. It is a very heavy stove. The manual says not to move it by it's cooktop. What it doesn't say is HOW to move it without hurting the stove. I have been through about 5 layers of Sears support. They all say have the installer come back. We have one installer here for the entire state, and it took me 3 weeks (and a call to the store manager) to get him here in the first place. I'd rather have my own people do the work, but I have to know how to move the stove so they can get behind it.
Having to get the proper information on moving your Range can be difficult. IO have taken the time to research your issue on the Manage My Life website and have located a link similar to your issue. While you are waiting for a detailed reply from an expert I have attached the link below.
The safest and easiest way to pull a range away from the wall is to use 2 people.
Open the oven door slightly and put your hand just inside the oven. Lift and pull on the top of the oven just behind the door opening. You can easily and safely slide the range forward with this method.Move the range slowly forward and watch the gas and electrical connections so you don't bend or kink any lines. The range should be setting on the 4 leveling legs on the floor. The cabinet should not be holding the weight of the range.Member
