Replacing the heating element on my Kenmore Dryer model # 67902791 serial # MH5008107

Question 1. Can you provide me in electronic format a step by step guide on how to properly replace the heating element on this dryer? As I am quite sure that my wife will be watching my every move if there is an installation tip sheet that will insure I have a smooth and successful endeavor that would be great as well. Question 2. We have had this dryer for over 15 years. Are there any recalls or product alerts I should be aware of in regard to this Serial # MH 5008107 and/or model # 67902791

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the dryer. I will be able to assist you with replacing the element. First, unplug or turn the power off to the dryer. Then click here to watch a video on how to replace the element. The video shows removing the whole heater housing but it is not necessary to remove it. Once the front access panel is removed, remove the screw in the cover plate in front of the element. Then remove the screw securing the element. Once it is removed, pull the element out of the housing. Slide the new element in and reassemble.

I have looked up the service history on the dryer and there are no recalls on this dryer. I hope this is helpful. Please let me know if you need further assistance on the dryer.

Here is a link to order any parts you need. Sears Parts Direct .

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

This is a great place to go for advice, especially if you're low on funds and you could resolve the problem before calling and paying a service call, if it's an easy fix. I'm glad you are there for me.
