Icemaker will not operate.
Kenmore fridge Model # 106 51552103. There is no operation at all of the ice maker. I was wondering if the PC board emitter led light ( 2220398 ) isbad? Is it supposed to be on all the time? Mine is never on.

Thank you for your question. I know it can be disappointing when the icemaker stops working. Yes, the red led light should be on. With the door open, it should flash twice, pause and then flash twice again. It should do this as long as the door is open. When the small flapper door is pressed in, the led should stop flashing and stay on solid. If this is not happening, the optic boards # 4389102 will need to be replaced. This will be a kit that includes both boards and is available at SearsPartsDirect . I'm attaching some pictures with instructions to access and replace these boards. Be sure to disconnect the power first. If you would like more assistance, reply to this thread and I will be glad to assist you further.
