Garage Door Remote Compatibility

I have a Garage Door Opener Remote Model Number 53681. I went to the Sears Oarts Store in OKC for an replacement and was given Model Number 53753. I cannot get it to program. Is it compatible?

The Managemylife web site is a good resource to find out what may be happening to your Garage Door Opener. I'm sorry to hear about the difficulties you’re having with your Craftsman Garage Door Opener. I did some research for you at Managemylife.com and found an excellent article that also has multiple expert answers at the bottom of the web page that addresses the most common questions that have been asked by other members. I hope this will help until your expert can answer your specific question. I attached the link below.

You were sold the wrong remote. 53681 is a good number and they should not have to substitute.

The remote you were sold will not work with a system that takes the remote you originally had. The original number, 53681, is still a valid replacement number. Everything with our remotes is changing and older remotes are all being phased out. It's very possible that the store you went to did not restock the remote you actually need since it will eventually be gone forever once the depot and factory run out of them. Every Craftsman/Chamberlain/Liftmaster machine made since 1993 will now take THIS REMOTE . One remote for any of our machines is what we've ended up going to. The new remote has not made it into all the stores nation wide as of today, but they should be in place within the next few weeks. You can order it from the link and have it sent to your home if you'd like.

I apologize that this mistake was made and has caused you frustration and time.

Thank you for using Manage My Life!

This is a great place to go for advice, especially if you're low on funds and you could resolve the problem before calling and paying a service call, if it's an easy fix. I'm glad you are there for me.
