I understand that your refrigerator is not cold anymore and that can definitely not be good because all of your delicious fresh food can go bad. I have taken some time to research your question here on the Manage My Life website and I noticed that someone else had asked a similar question with a posted response from an expert. I attached the link below for you to view. I hope the link that I provided is helpful. Have a nice day.
Thank you for your question. I'm sorry you are having this problem. Since the food is thawing in the freezer, it needs to be determined if the compressor is running. If the compressor is running, the problem will probably be in the seal system or with the compressor. It could be a low charge, a restriction or the compressor may not be pumping properly. These are checks a technician will be required to make.If the compressor is not running, it could be a problem with the starting device, the compressor itself or if the condenser motor is not running. If the motor is not running and the compressor is very hot, the motor will need to be replaced. If the motor is running but not the compressor, it can be very difficult to determine if the problem is with the starting device or the compressor unless the starting device is burnt. A technician will have a kit and meter, he can attach to the compressor, that will determine if the compressor or starting device has failed. Without this kit and meter, the only way to make this determination will be to take a chance and replace the starting device. If the compressor still wonít run, it will need to be replaced. Iím listing a site you can access, to have a tech come out. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services . If you would like more assistance, additional details will be helpful and I will be glad to assist you further.
