I have a 1/2 hp craftsman garage door opener that does not reset on my stepdaughter's 2004 Infinity G35. I have tried resetting the unit per the instructions.

When I reset the unit, Model #: 139.539755RT1, Serial #: 03221100229, the hand remotes will not work but her home-link car buttons do ( the three buttons located by the rear view mirror). Due to family issues, I would like to reset the opener so that she does not have access to the house. I tried resetting the unit, holding the learn button until the light turned off, ~8sec), unplugging the unit from the ceiling for approximately 20 minutes, plugged the unit back in, reset the unit again holding the learn button on the opener for ~8sec,and her car still opens our garage door. Please advise.

As the instructions state, holding the learn button in until the led goes off should erase all codes from the memory of the logic board. After erasing the codes, you should have to program any remotes or keyless entries.

Try erasing the codes again and programming a remote. Maybe programming a remote will finish the erasing of the codes. If you have a keyless entry, reprogram it to a new code.

If this doesn't stop the remote in the car from opening the garage door, I would replace the logic board in the opener.

The part number of the logic board is 41A5021-2G, and the price is $85.99. You can order the logic board at Parts Direct

This is a great place to go for advice, especially if you're low on funds and you could resolve the problem before calling and paying a service call, if it's an easy fix. I'm glad you are there for me.
