Replace vacuum rocker switch

I have a Eureka Vacuum cleaner model 4870D. My rocker switch no longer works. How do you replace the rocker switch and the rear wheel on this model?

Thank you for your question on changing the on/off switch and the rear wheels on the upright Eureka vacuum cleaner.

To change the rocker switch you will need to remove the dust bag box cover and then just above the dust box seal should be two screws to remove to remove the switch and lights cover.

I believe once you have the two screws removed you can lift up and unhook the panel from the main body.

The switch will have some plastic tabs that hold the switch to the cover and you should be able to remove the wire connections and then push-in on the sides of the switch tabs to remove the switch from the cover.

To replace the wheels I would suggest changing both the wheels and the axle.

Flip the vacuum over and locate the two securing plates that hold the axle to the body. Remove the screws for the axle and install the new wheel set.

If you will use the model 4870DT you will find the parts breakdown in our parts look up system.

Vacuum part listing .

Rear wheel with axle .

Rocker switch .

Here are the links for the model and the parts the above model of your vacuum cleaner.

This is a great place to go for advice, especially if you're low on funds and you could resolve the problem before calling and paying a service call, if it's an easy fix. I'm glad you are there for me.
