I know how important it is to get rid of unwanted weeds on the home lawn and I will be happy to help. While you are waiting for your expert answer, I did manage to find a link that will provide you with some good information to help you with your question. I hope my link is useful.
The short answer is yes, if the conditions are right. In fact, the research study that accidentally found the weed-killing value of corn gluten meal involved bentgrass (see the link below). - - - - Keep in mind, though, that corn gluten meal only kills germinating weed seedlings. It works by absorbing moisture from the soil, creating a deadly dry zone around the tiny roots of newly germinated weed seeds. That's why timing of application is so critical -- it has to be applied just as the seed sprouts. Corn gluten meal won't control established weeds -- in fact, the nitrogen in it gives established weeds a boost.
