We have a New Power Washer that we purchased in 09, we never used it. My Husband tried to use it today he put in a small amount of gas and it ran untill the gas ran out. He put more gas in and it won't start. Any suggestions?
Having a pressure washer that is not working properly can be a hassle and I will be happy to help. While you are waiting for your expert answer, I suggest you add to the thread of this question and include the full model number of your appliance so that the expert can provide you with a more detailed answer. I did manage to find two links that will provide you with some good information to help you with your question. I hope my links are useful.
This will be somewhat hard to nail down simply because it's new. Even though it's a couple of years old, it's not been used. I have a feeling we may have a carburetor problem simply because it not being used kind of eliminates the other things.Pick up a can of spray carb/choke cleaner from an auto parts store. Remove the air filter and shoot about a 3-4 second burst of cleaner down the throat of the carburetor and immediately try to start the engine (no choke, no primer). If the engine starts for a few seconds and then dies out then we are almost certainly looking at a carburetor related issue. At that point I would say remove the carburetor bowl and spray it out with the cleaner and spray up into the jets then put the bowl back on and try it out.You can watch THIS VIDEO to use as a reference for taking the bowl off and cleaning the whole carburetor if you wish to get that far into it.If spraying the carb/choke cleaner does nothing at all as far as starting for a few seconds, there may be a problem with the ignition coil, but I just find that hard to believe since the machine hasn't really ran any.Let me know what you find back on this thread and we can go from there.Thank you for using Manage My Life!
