I have a Frigidaire double wall oven model PLEB30T9DCA. The light and convection fan work, but the broiler and heating element do not heat. What part do I need to replace in the oven?
A non working Oven is not something any of us want to see. If you are technically handy, this is a good site to get instruction and fix some things yourself. If you do not feel confident doing your own repairs, an option is to visit Sears Home Services and use the scheduler. While you wait for the expert to review your model, you can check the bottom link for some possibilities. Hope this is of help.
Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.
You did not indicate if it's the upper or lower oven that is not working. Based on your symptom it likely has tripped the safety thermostat. There is a safety thermostat for the upper oven and one for the lower oven. The safety thermostats are most likely located on the back of the wall oven or they could have installed them above each oven cavity. The wall oven will have to be pulled out in order to access and reset the safety thermostats if there located on the back of the oven.I recommend calling a service technician to diagnose why the safety thermostat tripped. If could be related to a cooling fan failure or installation issue. If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .Thanks for the advice. It was the thermostat on my lower oven. I was able to pull the oven out to reset it and the elements started working again. It makes sense that it was tripped since the last thing I was doing was cleaning the oven. After talking with folks it sounds like cleaning your oven commonly trips these thermostats out.
The oven cleaning process does use extremely high heat. Certain conditions can cause that thermostat to trip. Make sure that you follow the instructions in your owner's manual regarding the self cleaning of the oven. I provided the page from your manual that covers that process in the image below. I recommend that you wipe out any spills before starting that self-clean cycle. Even if you follow all of the preparation shown below, there is a chance that the thermostat will trip in that self clean cycle. If the thermostat trips during regular use or you think that you have a problem, I recommend that you have a service technician examine the range.
