i have a craftmans riding mower 2000 model number 917.272245 i put a new battery in and mower will not start. whe i pull out the button for blades i just get a click. I don't even get a check when i turn the key.
I'm sorry about the difficulties that you are experiencing with your Craftsman Riding Mower. Check the fuse to make sure it is not blown. You will find the fuse up under the dash area. If the fuse is good you will need to get a meter and check for voltage on the red wire at terminal "B" on the ignition switch (red wire). If you do not have power there, the red wire has a fault between the ignition switch and where it connects to the battery cable. If you do have power there, lock the parking brake down and turn of the PTO. Now check for power on the white wire at terminal "S" on the ignition switch while you hold the key in the "start" position. If you have no power there, the ignition switch has failed.
