Our refrigerator has begun periodically making a loud buzzing sound (like an old game show buzzer). The noise lasts a few seconds then stops. It started happening every few days and is now daily. Any ideas on what it may be?
I understand that your Kenmore refrigerator is making a loud buzzing sound. I have taken some time to research your question here on the Manage My Life website and I noticed that someone else had asked a similar question with a posted response from an expert. I attached the link below if you are interested in viewing. I hope the link that I provided is helpful.
I can understand your concern. The information Alina sent you is very good. If the buzzing noise is coming from under the unit, it will be the compressor starting device. Normally when this happens, the unit will stop cooling also.If the noise is coming from inside the cabinet, it will probably be from the evaporator fan motor. In this model a buzzing sound can also be from the door alarm. If it is the door alarm, the main board will need to be replaced. I recommend having a technician make these checks and repair. Iím listing a site you can access, to have a tech come out. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services . I hope this helps you. If you would like more assistance, any additional details will be helpful and I will be glad to assist you further. Thank you for using Manage My Life.
