no spark B& S 10Hp

new magneto/electronic points. long black wire to cut off switch? short wire only long enough to reach mag mounting screw ? playing card gap about .015" electric start = good turn over. no wiring diagram but above wiring scheme seems reasonable . All other wiring has been removed except for battery to starter solenoid switch. Used as a" Hover Round" old Dixon riding lawn mower.

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the engine. you did not mention it but I assumed you replaced the condenser with the points. First, I recommend checking the gap on the points. Once set make sure they close when the crankshaft is turned. Then check the air gap on the armature. It should be set at .012. If the engine still does not have spark I recommend removing the kill wire and checking for spark. If the engine does not have spark the problem could be points, condenser, armature, or magnets on the flywheel.

Please let me know what you find and I will try to assist you further.

Thank you for using Manage my life.

The mag has electronics as stated, No points or condenser. . Will find a feeler gage.New armature, strong magnets. Must assume, as suspected, -kill wire is grounded somehow. when and if the weather changes-will take a look. Thanks Mark T.

This is a great place to go for advice, especially if you're low on funds and you could resolve the problem before calling and paying a service call, if it's an easy fix. I'm glad you are there for me.
