I have two Sears Garage Door operner 139.53914D. Each came with a Keyless entry pad. I programed the keyless entry with my personal code oK. Works. But once used. It remembers the code. Don't have to re-enter the code - just push the :"ENTER" button opens the doors. Both of my units work the same. I cleared all codes from my garage doors and reentered new codes. Again. Once I use the keyless entry pad. Just have to hit the "ENTER:" button to get the doors to open. I tried to enter a wrong number. But after about 3 minutes. Just hit the "ENTER:" button opens the doors. Both of my units work identical. Not secure. Is there something I did not do to cause this or is this a design flaw of the keyless entry pads????? Not very good it works this way.
Having an issue with the Garage door can be a concern. I have take the time to research on the Manage My Life website and have found some information that you may find interesting. While you are waiting for an expert to reply I have attached a link below.
Opener can be closed by pressing only the ENTER button if the One Button Close feature has been activated. This feature has been activated at the factory. To activate or deactivate this feature press and hold buttons 1 and 9 for 10 seconds. The keypad will blink twice when the One Button Close is activated. The keypad will blink 4 times when One Button Close is deactivated.
I think the problem may be that the keypads are both being given the same PIN number. Try giving each of them its own PIN number. For example keypad 1 would have "1234" as the PIN and keypad 2 would have "6789" as the PIN. I know in times past I've run into issues trying to get 2 keypads to work the same door, but in theory that should not happen. I think in a lot of cases it becomes problematic when the keypads are too close to each other.
Try changing the PIN between the 2 keypads and see if that makes any difference. If it does not change, let me know back on this thread and we can try something else.Thank you for using Manage My Life! Thanks for the Guru and the Expert answers. After reading the Guru answer, I realized that I only observed that the doors closes without entering a Keyless entry code. I made the wrong assumption that if the door closed by only depressing the "ENTER:" button, it would open without the entry code. I verified to myself you only need to enter the Keyless entry 4 digit code to OPEN the door. You do not need to enter the code to CLOSE the door. Wow. I should have realized this. It makes logical sense. So thanks again. I re-installed the Keyless entry outside again. I only use one keyless entry unit outside for controlling two garage door openers. You can program the one keyless entry with a unique code for each door. Works great. Yes, if both doors are open and you just hit the "ENTER" button (without entering a code), both door closes. To open you must enter the unique code for the door you want to open. The manual implies that you must enter a code and then depress "ENTER" button to make the garage door MOVE. The manual for my garage door operner does not specificly state that the code must be enterend to OPEN the door, but not needed to close the door. Thanks again to the Guru and Expert.
