Radio remotes won't work at home (Garage and car)

As of last night niether garage door opener remotes and number pad don't work, which I found as odd. Then my wife and I noticed that the keyless entry to either her car and my truck didn't work when in the driveway. Went to the store and work this morning and keyless entry worked fine. Tried to reprogram the garage remotes, with no luck. Any idea what could be causing all of the radio wave systems not to work all of a sudden? Thanks

Having your garage door working correctly is a security issue in most homes. You can find your model # under the light lens and srt will follow the #. I suggest that you should resubmit your question to the expert providing the make and model # for the best possible answer. I did find an expert answer at managemylife.com that was similar to your question. I attached the link below.

I will assume that you have a Craftsman door opener.

If you look on the back panel, you should see a "learn" button (or SRT button). Press and hold that button until the LED light goes out (about 6 seconds). That will clear all the codes from your opener unit. Now go back and program in all your remotes and keypad. After everything is programmed in, check to see that they are all working as they should. If not, take the batteries out of the keypad and try the remotes to see if all is well. If it's still not acting as it should, take the wires to the wall control off on the back panel of the opener unit, then check the remotes.

If, after all that, you still have remote problems, the problem will be with the logic board. If it is determined that the logic board is causing this, the only recourse is to replace the board. When you're testing these things, you are eliminating things from causing the problem. So, if you take the keypad out of the loop and everything works, then the keypad is at fault. Same with the wall control device.

Thank you for using Manage My Life!

Certain electrical devices can radiate interference; this could be almost anything that is plugged into an electrical outlet. Please keep in mind that the device can be brand new, or can be an item that has been in use for quite a while. Also, the item may continue to function properly as far as you are able to tell. The only problem with the item may be that it has started to broadcast the interference, with no other symptoms noted. Some devices are more likely to generate interference than others. This includes TV cable, cable amplifiers, surge protectors, fluorescent lights, battery charging devices (power tools, golf carts, etc.), anything that utilizes a timer (sprinkler systems, lights, alarm systems, etc.), and a myriad of others. If the problem seems sporadic, we can safely assume that the device responsible for the interference is only being operated during these times. Again, please keep in mind that the age of the device does not determine if it is capable of broadcasting unwanted interference. Any electrical device can be the source of the problem. To isolate potential sources of interference, turn the circuit breaker off to the garage and plug the garage door opener into an extension cord from another room. If the range improves, then the interference is coming from a device in the garage. If no improvement is seen follow the same procedure, this time turning off the circuit breakers to your home, with the exception of the garage and test the remote controls. If improvement is noted, turn the circuit breakers back on, one by one, until the range problem resurfaces. This will allow you to narrow down what room the problem device is in. You will have to go from there to isolate it further, by unplugging and re-plugging the items in that room. If you are unable to determine any source of interference, then the receiver logic board in the overhead unit will need to be replaced.

This is a great place to go for advice, especially if you're low on funds and you could resolve the problem before calling and paying a service call, if it's an easy fix. I'm glad you are there for me.
