Model #58716102800, Kenmore Dishwasher. Dishes not getting clean, do not hear water spray, it does cycle through to the end, drains normally.
The water must circulate in your dishwasher in order for your dishes to be cleaned, so I understand your concern toward no water circulation. While you are waiting for an expert answer, I did manage to find a link that will provide you with more information about your problem. I hope my link is useful.
We have had a similar problem with our dishwasher=but when we removed and cleaned the spray arm and the surrounding base area, it would again spray. We found that it simply gets clogged near the area at the bottom where the water is sent through the spray arm. Its worth a try to clean it before a repairman makes you buy a pump or a new machine.
One simple trick to check this problem is to place small cups in each corner and let it run a rinse only cycle for a minute or two. Check the amount of water in each cup for an idea of how much water is being circulated. You don't hear any water spraying around but can you hear the motor? There is a circulation motor and a drain motor which should be okay since the unit drains okay. If the motor is running there may be an obstruction in the pump. The image below will help you get into the pump to check for this. We can help with most do-it-yourself repairs for this dishwasher with pictures and step by step. I'd suggest removing the pump cover to check the motor impeller. Worse case scenario would be the motor being bad. The 154648101 motor is available for about $84 dollars and could be a do-it-yourself project. I'll be here to help and you'll save some money. Make the checks and reply with any additional detail for further assistance.
First off, Thank you to everyone who has posted the above suggestions! Well I believe I made a mistake with the original symptoms. I no longer think I have a circulation problem, I took Fred's advice above and the pump and motor is working. What I did notice is that when I run a test cycle and open the door steam does not roll out like it use to. I'm now wondering if it is a thermostat or heat element that is not working and causing the dishes to not get clean. If I open the door and splash a little water on the element there is a slight sizzle so it is heating up to some degree. If it is one of these how do I isolate which one it is.
