Is a 139.53681B garage remote compatible with a model 139.53644SRT garage door opener?

The opener that came with the house when we bought it was "Clicked out", so we need to get a replacement. I found an old manual for the opener, and have used that to try to find compatible openers, but so far I'm not having any luck at all.

I understand how important it is to find the correct remote control for your garage door opener. While you are waiting for an expert answer, I did manage to find a link in where you can plug in your model number and a parts list diagram will pop. Your owners manual will have instructions on how to program the control. I hope my link is useful.

That remote will not work with your opener it will only work with openers that have the orange smart/learn button. The remotes that are listed for your opener are 53879 or 53859 but you must call Sears parts for availability.

Thanks guys. I was afraid of that. Joseph, thanks for the link and Don thanks for the model # info. I guess I'll be calling Sears later today. Thanks again!

I do not think the remote you listed will work with the model you listed. The remote you listed works with opener units that have an orange “learn” button. If the opener unit you have has an orange learn button, you will be fine. But I do not believe that it does. From what I can tell, the opener you listed will have a green learn button.

The opener unit you listed should take a 53879 remote. Any remote you find that programs to a green learn button will work with your opener unit.

This is a great place to go for advice, especially if you're low on funds and you could resolve the problem before calling and paying a service call, if it's an easy fix. I'm glad you are there for me.
