Is there any kind of Maintanence that I need to do for the Profrom 775 EKG Treadmill. I recently used it (after a year of not using it) and it smell like something was burning.
Here is a link for the owner's manual on this treadmill: Owner's Manual . I recommend that you check the alignment and tension on the walking belt as shown on page 24. You can also unplug the treadmill and remove the hood as shown on page 23. Carefully blow out any dust or lint from the internal components with canned air. This may eliminate the burning smell that you detected. There is a silicone lubrication kit that you can use on the belt if necessary. The part number for this kit is 219168. You can order this kit from the Sears PartsDirect website. If you still detect a burning smell, you will likely need to have the treadmill examined by a technician. Here is a link for the Sears Service website: Sears Home Services .
Lyle, Thanks for your help. I will see if the belt needs adjustment and blow the dust off the motor. I have a question about the Lubrication Kits. Please take a look at p. 8 in manual, paragraph 1. It advises againt using a silcone lubricant. Do you still reccomend the lubrication kit or should I follow the manual's cautions. Thanks, Craig3
