Trouble with Sears Remote 139 53753. Door does not open all way.
My garage door will only open about 6 inches and then goes back down until I click remote again. It is Craftsman remote TX2028 139 53753 HBVV2028

Actually this sounds like the spring system on the door has broken. Disconnect the door from the opener and run it by hand. It should be easy to run and balanced well. If it is not then this needs to be repaired or replaced. Do not run the opener or you will strip the gears. If it is not the door then your gears are to blame most likely. Unplug the unit and take the motor cover off and look for white plastic shavings, if there are then the drive gear needs to be replaced.
