garage door opener hums, NOTHING is moving.....not trolley, not chain, not cable. moves manually

Model 13953525, 13953627 or 1395363 on manual. Can't read on opener. It hums, but nothing moves. manual doesn't show good picture of how it should look....... where should chain and cable be in respect to trolley.....how attached? WHAT moves the trolley besides me, manually? It works manually. Emergency release is in correct position. I admit, I don't know what it looked like when it was working and since the manual isn't showing what I need, I can't put it back together.

If the motor hums but the chain does not move than the drive gears have stripped out of your unit. On searspartsdirect.com you have 2 options. One is the drive and worm gear replacement set which is 25.71, model 41a2817, or the whole drive assembly which includes these parts but is pre-assembled is 34.11, model 41c4220a.

If the chain does move then you will need to hook the outer trolley to the inner trolley. On that model if you pulled the trolley cord down and back then it locks it out and will not rehook. Pull it down and forward then bring the trollies together and they will re-engage. If they do not then you will need a new outer trolley. Thanks BB

This is a great place to go for advice, especially if you're low on funds and you could resolve the problem before calling and paying a service call, if it's an easy fix. I'm glad you are there for me.
