I bought a yard vac a few years ago, I never put it together until this year and I can't start it. What am I missing?

It is a Craftsman 6.0 HP yard vacuum, model no. 247.770550. I followed the directions to start and it just won't start. It has gas, the spark plug is hooked up, and it has oil in it.

Be sure the bag/chute switch button is fully depressed by the bag or the bag handle. If this switch is not fully depressed, the engine won't start.

Move the choke lever to full choke and pull the starter rope until the engine starts or tries to start. When starting a new engine, it might take 10-12 pulls on the starter rope before the engine starts.

This is a great place to go for advice, especially if you're low on funds and you could resolve the problem before calling and paying a service call, if it's an easy fix. I'm glad you are there for me.
