how do I program an outdoor keypad when I do not have a code?

Craftsman and genie products are not compatible with one another. They operate on different mhz. This may be an old keypad from another unit left there. You will need a genie keypad to work. They do carry genie products at your local Sears or you can go to searspartsdirect.com, click on the contact us icon for help. We recommend a surge protector on all openers. Thanks BB
