sears garage door opener lights no longer go off. Lights on overhead unit remain on all the time.
The sears garage door opener is model 139.655000 The 2 lights built in on the overhead unit just started staying on yesterday. Is there a switch or timer inside the overhead unit that could have gone bad?

This indicates that the logic board has taken a surge and this is where it has manifested. You can either unscrew the light bulbs and just not use the light feature or you will have to install a new logic board.
