The previous Garden sheds were placed on the lawn and the area turned to mud! No cement foundations please.
First, try to select a location that is slightly higher in elevation from the other areas of the lawn if possible. Remove the grass or sod from under the area that you are going to place the building. Clear an area that is slightly larger than the building. Dig down about 4" in the selected area and clear out all of the dirt from this 4" deep area. Fill the 4" deep area with gravel for proper drainage. Go about an inch above the ground with the gravel and level it. You should now have a well drained and proper area to place the building without running into problems with mud.
