Answer itHow can I organize and protect my new car from the big messes that normally occur with my kids riding in it?
I am looking for ideas for inexpensive (cheap) upholstery seat covers and floor mats. I need information on upholstery protectant. I could use cool storage ideas for toys, snack time and my office on wheels.

There are many different upholstery sealants and protectants on the the market that will help you keep the seats looking like new. I have found that having the dealer or a professional shop apply the sealant usually works better than doing it myself. A professionally applied protectant will normally work well enough that you do not need seat covers. The spills can be wiped up within a reasonable time and will not normally leave any stains. Stains that do occur can often be cleaned with OxyClean or other stain removers but you may have to refresh the protectant following stain removal. Seat covers will provide some protection but won't look as nice in a brand new car. You may save this remedy for later.I recommend using floor mats. Vinyl floor mats can be placed under the carpeted ones to keep an attractive appearance. A storage caddy can be used for toys in the back seat. Storing toys under the front seats can also help. Video screens on the back of the front seats can also keep the kids occupied. Try to create a habit of cleaning up and storing toys on the way out of the car if possible.Try to use only spill proof cups in the car. Make sure that you have plenty of cup holders. You can normally add some if needed. Try to plan snacks that will not make a big mess or that can be easily cleaned up. Try to stay away from messy chocolate as much as possible. Organize a supply of trash bags for the car so that wrappers and cups don't build up.Try to schedule one day of the week to spend a few minutes cleaning out the car. You may even need to do this twice a week. Quickly clear out trash and stow the toys. Clear out clothes and dishes. Get the family to help.I hope that these tips will help. Congratulations on your new car.
