First make sure the batteries are good. This is a security plus opener that operates on a 390mhz rolling code. If this remote did not come with this unit make sure it is compatible. You can by resubmitting with the model of the remote. If the battery is good and it is the right remote find the orange/red learn button on the motor unit. Press and release this button and then press the button on the remote. The light bulb should flash once. If it does not program but the other remotes are good then you need a new remote. If it does not program and you are having troubles with other devices then you will need a new logic board. We recommend a surge protector 900 joules or higher on all openers.
