I am having a range issue with a Craftsman 315 receiver on a Craftsman garage door opener.

The opener is actually being used on an outdoor gate. The receiver is located inside the control cabinet with the antenna hanging out. In order to open it with the remote you have to get the remote right at the cabinet (remote is a TX2028). Is there some type of signal booster or external antenna that could be used?

There is an antenna extender that can be used on the opener. The part number of the antenna extender is 41A3504, and the cost is around $35.00.

Short range is usually caused by interference in the area. If rf interference is causing the short range, the antenna extender will not help.

You should get a Sears technician to check for rf interference and try to locate the source. Sears technicians have a meter that will detect and locate rf interference.

This is a great place to go for advice, especially if you're low on funds and you could resolve the problem before calling and paying a service call, if it's an easy fix. I'm glad you are there for me.
