Why won"t my garage opener allow me to program the original remotes & keypad? Just one or the other?

One of two things are happening.

1-Your receiver is full of devices and are dumping some once you program another. To see if this is the problen find the colored learn button on the motor head. Press and hold this button down until the led light by it goes out. This erases all old codes out. ----Now press and release the learn button and then press the button on the remote. The flash light will blink once. For multiple remotes repeat from ----. For the keypad press and release the learn button and then enter the 4 digit code followed by the up/down button. Again the light bulb will flash. If this does not work go to 2.

2-Your receiver on the logic board is faulty. If you have an opener that operates on 390mhz you can just get the external receiver. If any other color you need to replace the logic board. Also protect the unit with a surge protector 900 joules or higher. You can get parts at searspartsdirect.com, click on the contact us icon for help. Have the model # ready. Thanks BB

This is a great place to go for advice, especially if you're low on funds and you could resolve the problem before calling and paying a service call, if it's an easy fix. I'm glad you are there for me.
