When it gets cold/or the older the opener gets it needs more power to operate. There are some adjustments on the opener called FORCE ADJUSTMENTS, these are the ones we want. There are some called travel adjustments too, we do not want to mess with these. You can tell the difference by the look and placement. FORCE ADJUSTMENTS stick OUT of the motor head and are white or blue. The limit adjustments set more inside the motor head. Adjust the 2 force adjustments 1/4 turn clockwise and try to run the unit. If it works call it good, if not 1/4 turn again. These adjustments should never be turned all the way up. Although it will fix the problem it also creates a dangerous door. To make sure the force is not set too high take a 2x4 and lay it flat on the floor under the middle of the door. Now run the door down and let it hit and close on the 2x4. It should not stay down. It should hit and try to close on it but then go back up. If it does not turn the down force adjustment counter clockwise 1/8 turn and try it again. Thanks BB

This is a great place to go for advice, especially if you're low on funds and you could resolve the problem before calling and paying a service call, if it's an easy fix. I'm glad you are there for me.
