Remotes don't have anything to do with this. If your other remotes do work well and this one does not then you either need a new remote or a new logic board. But lets try something first. If after it will not go down go to the wall station and press and release the wall button. If it goes all the way down then you will need a new remote or logic board. But if you have to press and hold the wall button down than that is a different story. This indicates that the safety sensors either out of alignment or damaged or the wiring is damaged.

Look at the safety sensors. Each of them should have an LED light on them. They should not be flashing or flickering. If they are out of alignment it should be obvious which one needs adjustment.

If they are looking at each other and still not working then check the wire for obvious damage. If none is found cut the wire 12" from the sensor and strip the wire 1/2" back to the copper. Hook the sensor with the orange light up first.(IF both are green hook them both up)([If you have 4 terminals then hook white to white and black to black, if you have 3 screw terminals hook white up to the 2nd screw and the black up to the 3rd] If it light up then hook up the green one and point them at each other. If they work then the wiring needs replaced. If they do not light up the, or just one does then you will need a set of sensors, they sell these in pairs. You can go to searspartsdirect.com for replacement parts. Thanks BB
