Setting new Craftsman garage remote-"learn" lite will click on but wont blink to set the new remote.

Per instruction, the Learn lite is on when pressed. Within 30 secs. I press the remote button...the Learn lite never blinks to accept the new remote. Any help is appreciated! :)

also wanted to add that is is an extra remote just purchased that I can't seem to program. The two original and keyless entry still work perfectly.

One of two things are happening. Either the batteries in the remote are depleted, or the remote is not sending a signal, //or you need a new logic board with a receiver on it. WITHOUT pressing the learn button just press the remote button and look at the led light by it. If it flashes every time you press the remote button then the remote is sending and the board is not receiving. You will need a new logic board for this issue. If it does not light up and the battery is KNOWN to be good then the remote is bad and it is not sending any signal and needs replaced. You can go to searspartsdirect.com for any replacement parts, have the model # ready. We recommend a surge protector on every opener. It needs to be 900 joules or higher. This is a major cause for these types of problems. Thanks BB

Make sure the new ones are on the right frequency. Most of the time if you have the model # with you at the store or the color of the learn button the associates can get the right remotes for you. You can even take a picture with you to the store. Not all devices are compatible just because they are the same brand

This is a great place to go for advice, especially if you're low on funds and you could resolve the problem before calling and paying a service call, if it's an easy fix. I'm glad you are there for me.
