When should I plant winter rye grass in central Texas?

What are the requirements for rye grass to grow.

Due to warmer weather in Central Texas, you will normally need to wait until mid-November to plant or overseed with winter rye grass. This type of grass normally need about a 65 degree ground temperature to thrive. The rye grass needs to stay moist for about 72 hours to germinate and begin growing. It will normally last until early or mid-spring when the weather heats back up.

This is a great place to go for advice, especially if you're low on funds and you could resolve the problem before calling and paying a service call, if it's an easy fix. I'm glad you are there for me.
