Why would my garage door keypad not work in cold weather?

Blue button remote, Craftsman garage door opener.

Weather conditions don't usually affect these devices. Sometimes they can affect the battery in the keypad though. If it also does not work from the remote then that is a simple fix. Find 2 plastic adjustments on the motor unit that POKE OUT of the unit not in. Turn both of these up 1/8 to 1/4 turn, never all the way up or alot. Tis turns the force up that cold can affect. If it only does this on the keypad after the battery is replaced I would get a new keypad. You can go to your local sears or to searspartsdirect.com for one. Do a 2x4 safety reversal test too. Thanks BB

This is a great place to go for advice, especially if you're low on funds and you could resolve the problem before calling and paying a service call, if it's an easy fix. I'm glad you are there for me.
