I have two issues: (1) The light bulbs come on without being activated and stay on until turned off. (2)The lights are activated by the motion sensor during daylight hours. (To prevent unnecessary electrical usage by this opener, I have covered the motion detecting sensor with black tape. I can wave my hand in front of the control and the lights do not come on). Numerous times I have come in the house and closed the garage door. I check to make sure the opener lights are off after a short waiting period . I've then checked back on the garage door lights and found them on. Several times I wake up in the morning and find the lights on. We do not have pets or children in this household. I work for a electrical utility company. I'm not happy with the wasteful energy consumption of this product.
First of all There is a toggle switch on the side of the wall station that turns this feature off(right side, switch from auto to off).
There are a couple of instances that a garage door opener will turn on it's lights. Obviously when you hit the light feature, but also when something crosses the safety beams. If it is still turning on by itself on the off position first take off the wall station and keep it off for a while making sure the wires do not touch. But don't worry they only carry a 9 volt charge. If it still does it you know it is the logic board. If it stops and when you hook it back up it continues then you need to replace the wall station.
