First the obvious make sure the bulbs are good in a lamp. Some of the new style light bulbs do not work right with openers. Next unplug the opener. Inside the light socket you will see a copper lead. If it gets flattened by time and pressure then it does not make contact any more. You can pull these leads forward to possibly make better contact. If this is not it then it is one of two things. Either you can replace the sockets themselves or the logic board might need replaced. It is hard to test to see which one, but I would start off with the cheaper sockets first. Also put a surge protector on the unit, 900 joules or better. You can go to searspartsdirect.com for replacement parts. Click on the contact us icon for help. Thanks BB

This is a great place to go for advice, especially if you're low on funds and you could resolve the problem before calling and paying a service call, if it's an easy fix. I'm glad you are there for me.
