How do I reprogram my two new remotes for my garage door opener so they don't unprogram each other?

the garage door opener is a Sears Craftsman HBW0777. I can program each remote separately, but when I program one, the other stops working. When I reprogram the second one, the first stops working. So, they both work individually, but not at the same time! I'm programming each one by holding down the green button on the opener and the large button on the remotes. When I tried to hold down both remotes and the green button on the opener at the same time, nothing happened. What now?

First you should press and let go of the green button and then press the button on the remote. The light bulb should flash to tell you it is programmed. If you are still having problems after that then this indicates that you are having logic board problems. Do you have a surge protector on the unit? There should be one 900 joules or higher on it. Surges account for most of these problems. You will need a new logic board to fix this problem. You can go to searspartsdirect.com for a replacement. Click on the contact us icon for help. Make sure and have your model number ready. Do a 2x4 safety reversal test after all is taken care of. Thanks BB

This is a great place to go for advice, especially if you're low on funds and you could resolve the problem before calling and paying a service call, if it's an easy fix. I'm glad you are there for me.
