It sounds like the trolley is dead ended on the track's stop bolt. If the opener travels too far it may come in contact with these, either up or down. If it has get slack in the chain and take this bolt out. If it is stuck on the top one adjust the UP travel down. If it is stuck on the down one adjust the DOWN travel up 1 full turn and then fine tune it after you get the chain on.
If this is not it there is a screw on the trolley you can tighten to get the slack out. And then you might need an RPM sensor. You can go to searspartsdirect.com, click on the contact us icon for help for a replacement part. These are the only things a 5 blink can be. To get rid of the blinking unplug the unit for 1 minute.
