Garage door opener remotes (Craftsman 139.53963SRT) do not work. Wall unit works; batteries replaced

Craftsman 1/2 hp, 120V, 5.5 amp, 60hz garage door opener Model: 139.53963SRT Serial: 24591A00356 Wall unit works to operate the door so there is power, sensors are aligned, etc., but the remotes do not work. I replaced the batteries in the remotes but that did not help. I tried several times to reprogram the remotes but that did not help. When I press the door open/close button on the remote a small yellow light flashes in the power unit so it appears to be receiving the signal but the unit does not translate that into action. No lights are flashing and it is not in locked mode.

If the keypad is working and the remotes are not then I would suggest that you replace the remotes. All devices(remotes and keypads) transmit the same code on the same frequency to operate the door. Remotes do go bad and just because there is action on the srt led light does not mean that it is receiving the right code.

If they malfunction they will still transmit but maybe on a little different frequency or a different code. I would try a replacement remote first and if this does not work then your only option left is to rplace the board or the unit itself. Make sure and have a surge protector for the unit. Thanks BB

This is a great place to go for advice, especially if you're low on funds and you could resolve the problem before calling and paying a service call, if it's an easy fix. I'm glad you are there for me.
