Kenmore Washer 70 series, model number 11082873100, what is the capacity (cubic ft) or drum size?

I have had this machine for over 20 years, but it needs repairs and I was told I should replace it. I want another machine with the same capacity (3.2, 3.5, 4.0 cubic ft?), but no one has owner's manuals/specs for this older machine. I really want to know the capacity of my machine. Can it be measured, or does someone have specs for this model? Does someone have documentation or specs on this machine?

In reference to your Kenmore washer, model number 110.82873100:

To calculate the capacity (volume) of the tub, you multiply the area by the height. For example if your washer has a tub radius of 10 inches and the height is 14 inches, you would use the mathematical equation below.

  • Area is pi x r-squared = 3.1416 x 10-squared = 3.1416 x 100 = 314.16.
  • Volume = 314.16 x 14 = 4398.24 cubic inches.
There are 1728 cubic inches per cubic foot, so you divide 4398.24 by 1728 = 2.5452777 cubic feet. So the cubic feet of capacity of your washer would be 2.5.feet

NOTE : This applies to both laundry appliances.

This is a great place to go for advice, especially if you're low on funds and you could resolve the problem before calling and paying a service call, if it's an easy fix. I'm glad you are there for me.
