My garage door opener works fine. My remotes won't program. It is a model 139.53673srt. What can cause this?

I have a Craftsman garage opener model 139.53673srt. I can't get the remotes to program. I lost power in my home and the remote openers stopped working. I tried to program as per instructions. It worked going out of my garage however as I tried to come back in, I got no response. I erased all codes and tried steps 1,2,3 again and have not been successful. The light comes on and then goes right back off.

It sounds like you may have had a voltage spike when the power failed and it damaged the logic board in the opener.

Since the garage door opener has been operating for some time, I feel something in the system failed.

I would replace the logic board in the garage door opener.

This is a great place to go for advice, especially if you're low on funds and you could resolve the problem before calling and paying a service call, if it's an easy fix. I'm glad you are there for me.
