What type grass is best for mostly clay soil in Colorado zip code 80229?

I am looking for grass that is good for mostly clay soil in Colorado.

Clay soil presents challenges for growing a good grass lawn. The lawn will likely need to be areated and top dressed to begin with and then periodically areated thereafter to maintain the lawn. The best cool weather grasses for the Denver area would be KBG (Kentucky Blue Grass) or tall fescue. If you are looking for warm season grasses, I recommend that you consider buffalo grass or blue grama.
