: Gdopener 139.53990 handheld remotes do not work after adding car remote controls
Garage door opener 139.53990 worked well with the 2 original hand held remotes and the remotes of two cars. By trying to add the remote of another car I made the mistake of pushing the Learn button and the car remote. The hand held remotes do not work any more. May I restore the situation by clearing all the remotes from the door opener and using the Learn button with one of the hand held remotes and later add the 2 car remotes from a hand held remote? For the time being the car remote works well and I'm concerned that it may not work any more if the hand held remotes do not operate. I would appreciate your help. Dan Leonida

Garage door openers do not distinguish the differnce between car remotes or hand held ones or keyless entries. They just receive the right code on the right frequency and operate the door. If you want to start all the way over it is up to you. Either way program the hand helds first as they help with the autos. If they are not learning and you are sure you are doing it right you may have a receiver problem or a logic board problem. Make sure and get a surge protector 900 joules or higher. Thanks BB
