What is the best method to get rid of gophers and keep them away?
My neighbor behind me has a large hill in their back yard. The roof of their second story house is about level with my yard so it is a good sized hill. The gophers are pretty much everywhere and keep coming up into my yard which is now beginning to get sink holes. I have used traps and have caught a few. I have also purchased battery operated devices that give off a pulse, that seem to keep them away until the darn things quit working. Those as it turns out are only temporary solutions. They keep coming back. I am afraid if we cannot control them my yard will begin to collapse. Please help.

The best way to get rid of the gophers and keep them away would likely be to hire a professional exterminator. There are methods and poisons available to exterminators that are not accessible to the general public. Due to the severity of the infestation that you describe, this may be the best route for you.
If you cannot use an exterminator, trapping and/or poisoning the gophers will be the only other resort. Devices that produce vibrations in the ground can sometimes help keep them out once they are removed.Join this conversation.
